Sweet returns for our Visual Communication students

Raffles Design Institute's Visual Communication students have the golden opportunity to work with Singapore's first home-grown bakery franchise and the longest-running Singapore food franchise, PrimaDeli. The award-winning bakery chain serves a wide range of top quality pastries, buns, breads and cakes. You may wonder how graphic design is associated with cake-making because most of us will associate graphic design (also known as Visual Communication) with packaging, advertisement, print media, corporate identity etc.

However, at Raffles Design Institute, we work with industry partners to re-define design boundaries and its applications.

Our Visual Communication students were tasked to design a new series of Western and Chinese zodiac icons for PrimaDeli's "Fun-filled Moments" cakes.

PrimaDeli is pleased with the overwhelming responses from the students and they had a difficult time to select top 4 winning series. The students are:

  1. Marcella Halim
  2. Elsa Kurniawan
  3. Jay Liao
  4. Delcie Lam

Each of them walked away with a letter of participation and cash rewards from PrimaDeli.

But that's not the end, Delcie's and Jane's designs are now available at all PrimaDeli outlets! Next time, when you are celebrating someone's birthday, remember to ask for Raffles Designer's cake!
